That last gif, there is one of those green ones on Autotrader U.K. for sale (I can’t remember it’s name off the top of my head),

BRB!

Okay, I’m back, it’s a 1996 Daihatsu Midget. I think it was 596cc. One seat, driver seat just off centre to the right as the gear shift is immediately to your left.

They are cool little machines. I saw one recently here in the US which is strange as they aren’t legal to import yet

This is good oppo - thank you for the cool pics!

Can you actually do Paris-Dakar on a Vespa? Might be my only way to afford doing Paris Dakar - on a clapped- out Craigslist Vespa.

I’m usually not one to get squeamish about the safety of small cars or old cars, but that looks terrifying

Nah, it’s knowing your vehicle and how to use it.

Take the Ford Mustang, how low to the ground, great dynamics, great performance vehicles for less money than more prestige vehicles, but in the hands of someone inexperienced leaving a Cars & Coffee loses control and crashes the damned thing or the several performance cars that crash just on the way home from the dealership because the driver simply didn’t know how to handle it.

I’m not worried about my driving I’m worried about the bored Mom driving a  5,000lb Tahoe squashing me like a bug.

altho lets be honest my MK1 rabbit convertible probably inst much safer.

Argh yes, the distracted driver, complacent individual, the ‘accidental acceleration’, inexperienced driver, the driver that feels like laws are for others and not them, etc... there’s a lot of that going about over there I hear.

i think the world would be a much safer place if every one drove a one of those MIdgets. that false sense of security that a modern car provides would be gone. Every moment would be a while knuckle drive for most forcing them to PAY THE F*CK ATTENTION.

True. Someone came up with a car that had the fuel tank hanging off the rear of the bumper, a spike sticking out of the steering wheel, a compact explosive on the front bumper, etc... sort of Mutually Assured Destruction on the highway really.

that’s  the most hardcore application of the “Darwin award” theory I’ve ever heard.

It’d sure keep people on their toes. In fact it would probably get more people cycling. Lol.
